Sakura-con + trips.

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 3, 2010, 2:02 AM
So to join the slew of people making their pre-Sakura-con journals, here's mine!

...For the sole purpose of saying "I'm not going to Sakura-con this year."

It blows a little, yeah, but there are several factors at work here. First off, my spring break doesn't coincide with Sakura-con the way I thought it did---it actually ends like a full two weeks earlier, which is made of suck and fail. Second off, fucking waz dada. There's no way I could afford a plane ticket to Seattle from Los Angeles and back all over the course of one weekend, especially when you add to that the cost of a hotel, food, con shit, etc. Third off, even if I did have a break that coincided with con, I have to spend the break working so that I can have spending and food money for the thing that counts as "fourth off":

I'm going to Korea and China in May!

I'm really excited about it, honestly. The plan is this: May 12-20, Seoul, South Korea. May 20-25, Beijing, China. May 25-28, Shanghai, China. And then back home!! Yeah. Uhh I'm sort of super tired so I'm not going to keep writing BUT YEAH IT'S NIFTY OKAY.

P.S. Tomorrow I get to see Neil Gaiman speak at UCSB.

Oh, of course! I'm not typically one for poetry, but it was very powerful work.
